This site is a compilation of birds photos taken in the the Southwest Florida area. Southwest Florida is home to some of the best birding in the United States, especially during our winter season when we host both resident and migratory species.  The beautiful Gulf shoreline and tidal lagoons attract  both shorebirds and waders, while our prairies, wetlands and swamps attract a host of raptors, songbirds and migratory resters and nesters.

I am an avid photographer living in Southwest Florida.  While I have been photographing for well over forty years, only recently have I become fascinated by the wildlife, specifically birds, here in our beautiful Florida paradise.  Please feel free to comment and/or help me if I mis-identify a bird especially those little shorebird peeps.  Thanks for looking
