Merritt Island NWR is an awesome place for birding. The well-known Blackpoint Drive offers a winding road through the many habitats of both shorebirds and migratory species. Spoonbills are plentiful particularly in early winter. The nearby Cape Canaveral National Seashore also has excellent birding for Florida Scrub Jays and a winding road with the same access to habitat as Blackpoint Drive. Restrooms are available. RV's are not allowed on Blackpoint Drive
