This long boardwalk has many informative signs about the flora and fauna of the swamp/strand. The boardwalk ends at a small pool with usually an alligator and a few wading birds in attendance. Three-quarters of the way back to the pool, is signage for a bald eagle nest. This nest has hosted an eagle pair since 1985, and as of 2015 the eagles were still roosting in the nest with this year's progeny.
Parking is free in front of the gift shop or across the street if crowded. There is a porta-potty available.
