Wakodahatchee Wetlands is a premiere birding hotspot on the East Coast. A series of water treatment ponds and marshes are traversed by an extensive boardwalk. From January to May, nesting Great Blue Herons, Anhingas, Wood Storks, Great Egrets and many other species call the wetlands home. For the latest siting's and information, there is a Facebook group called Wakodahatchee Wetland/Green Cay Wetlands which post the latest sitings Great close-up photos are possible of nesting birds in season. Parking is a problem here and it is best to get there early at dawn to insure a spot. Bathrooms are available.
